Alquati A24/1 cams

Post by Kevin1 »

I recently acquired a set of Alquati A24/1 cams with a cache of parts that came with a '72 spider. The '72 is has a 1608 with dual carbs. Our '80 is a 2 liter with fuel injection. The 1980 has a stock bottom end with a blueprinted and ported head. The '72 appears to be stock with the addition of dual carbs and a 4/2/1 exhaust (maybe from a later car?).

Would these cams be a worthwhile upgrade for either of these cars?

The 1608. The 2000 won't benefit as much, isn't as free revving. 1608 will have a lopey idle and you'd benefit from adjustable cam wheels, and it will then become the balls.
