What Media Blaster do you Have?
I'm in the market for a media blaster - what do you have and what do you like or dislike about it?

I have a cabinet style. Big enough to get a 13 and maybe a 15 inch wheel in it. I'm using glass bead for a medium as I was tidying up some aluminum bits and pieces.

I bought a harbor freight desk top job. Its like 2x3'. The biggest issue is it needs to sit on a stand as the bottom sand drain is lower than the legs. Works good enough but not as durable as a decent industrial one.

Yeah, well that....and the fact the gloves tend to disintegrate, but for the price it got the job done.azruss wrote:I bought a harbor freight desk top job. Its like 2x3'. Re: What Media Blaster do you Have?
I have two, both Harbor Freight. First is the 80lb tank, it has worked pretty well, but tends to clog if you don't have a really dry air supply. I now use double moisture filters ( one with a home made bucket chiller condenser prior to the second filter.) and this seems to work well for both blasters. The second one is the cabinet as previously mentioned. The gun has come apart a couple of times and the gloves are separating at the seams. That said, I have have had the tank job about ten years and the cabinet about 5. You do need a decent 60 gallon continuous duty compressor with high cfm if you are going to use them any length of Time. I started with a 30 gallon sears compressor, and it just wasn't big enough. Ran all the time and I probably went through two or three piston and seal setups in about a year.
