Early bumper value

Post by ga.spyder »

I have a friend that has a set of early Spider bumpers. They are split rear type. They seem to be in really good shape, although I haven't seen them in person. The rubber overriders are intact. He said to make him a offer I am comfortable with.My problem...I don't have a clue what they are worth.I don't want to overpay or make a insulting offer to a friend. He has no use for them,as they came off a car we used to race together .Thanks for any feedback.I know its hard to say w/o pics,I will see if I can get one posted.

I'm not sure either, but as a point of reference you can get a new set from a variety of sources for around $800.

If you were going to pay more than half that for a used set with normal wear and tear but not horrific chrome I'd start thinking about the new ones instead.

If they need to be rechromed then the price would go down a lot, as the rechroming will be expensive.

Craig, best to have a look at them. If you are comfortable in putting them on a car right off the bat, they would be worth some money. Perhaps $250-$450.00 as they might have a few small dints? But everything is more expensive in Canada....
Dinged and have to be re-chromed, I'd explain to your friend and perhaps $100-$200.00.
I bought a set years ago for I think around $250, they could go on a car but better if I send them out to get chromed.

I bought a set from some one, I paid 400. I think, but these are like right out of the box look. I have sold the front for 200.00 on ebay,I have sold the back for 120. I think
I meant I have sold a different set from a 74. I have the newer set for my 69 and I will have a set for sale that's on my 69 possibly
