Real time inventories

Post by vandor »

> I prefer to actually talk to someone to make sure the item is in stock before I place an order

Most FIat vendors' web-stores are 'real time', so if an item is out of stock they don't let you order it. Sure, the inventory could be off, but a guy sitting at a computer would not know that either when taking an order.

This is why I like that I like fiats.... In general (with one notable exception) everyone is straight down the line - and wants to do the right thing.

Thanks Matt for keeping my faith!

I have never dealt with Midwest-Bayless, but after reading this thread, I would gladly.

Class act Matt.

You received the wrong part and the vendor is working with you to take it back, what's the big deal? Your inconvenienced?

There is a huge difference between bad customer service and this. This just sounds like you are mad because you can't find some fenders you want. Disappointment I understand, but if you want to really have a bad experience with a FIAT vendor I can send you some to try out. Some of them really do suck.

I'm fortunate to have a local vendor that carries 9/10 of the service parts I need for my FIAT's but many of my FIAT buddies here down under deal with Matt on a regular basis and have nothing but praise for his parts and service. Being an ex Fiat parts vendor myself when I first read this post I had a feeling that this was an isolated issue or a case of misunderstanding and that stuff like this happens in business no matter what systems are in place. I would have no issues what so ever dealing with Matt (or Mark :D ) (or Ramzi :D ) if and when the time comes.

Lets not forget, vendors that look after our aging vehicles are a dying breed and I take my hat off to those that have stuck around through thick and thin...

I'm not into editing and believe in freedom of speech but in this case I have to agree 4uall, it's crossed the line where someones business can be negatively affected for no real good reason.

Just to clarify, I was only referring to amending the title. I am the first to promote freedom of expression while at the same time seeking to understand, then to be understood

In the age of the internet, everyone does assume that the inventories are real-time. Do what we did 10 years ago and just pick up the phone can call if you are that concerned. I don't want this to come across wrong, but we (myself included) have become very lazy when it comes to calling companies with questions and will avoid it at any cost opting for e-mails and texting. However, we'll gladly call a friend just to say what's up.

My experiences with Midwest-Bayless have been fantastic. Sorry to hear yours wasn't so stellar.
