Hello there,
I just purchased a 1982 Fiat Spider and the previous owner cannot find the keys. I've had two locksmiths out, no luck. They recommended taking steering column out..anyone have a better idea? Thanks!!

It is my understanding that Fiat reused like 15 different keys. Csaba would know if this is correct. If that is the case, you can see if you can gather some samples and see if you get lucky. As a kid, i can remember by dad locking his keys inside his 62 buick. Since GM used the same keys sets, we just went down the street and borrowed GM keys until one worked. I think is was a 58 chevy.

Update:
After researching all day, I came across how find the code to have a key made on a thread on this site! You pry off the silver disk that covers the ignition and underneath is the code to have a key made. It worked! Had two different locksmiths out working for a total of four hours and they couldn't figure it out. So glad I found this forum!
