Re: BROWN WIRE FIX?
Start at your ignition switch and trace the wiring harness to the very first connector. You will see a brown wire. Most likely the connector will be discolored from over heating or burned through. The brown wire connects to the starter and overheats because way too much draw is placed on that wire. The "brown wire fix" is when you run a parallel wire from the back of the ignition switch to the starter and you leave the original intact. This spreads the draw over two wires instead of just one.
There are other options including relays and a little bit of re-wiring that will also fix the problem by eliminating the massive amount of draw on the wiring.
Search "brown wire fix" and there are schematics on the forum about the fix and the relay solution.

Re: BROWN WIRE FIX?
If you have a 79 or new the factory did that with a brown wire from the battery. Hence the name brown wire fix. The brown wire fix sill has almost all the current going through the ign switch so you still should add relays for the big loads.
