For the price charged the quality control should be high. So high that the bumpers are straight at least, or the ash tray is installed correctly. For $50k the Spider should be delivered by the vestal virgins on a cloud of silk and no item should be questionable.

As far as the pedigree of a car that wins at FFO, has any car ever won at FFO that is actually a stock Spider? I've seen some hideous sh*t be "concours" contenders there. Only concours in the world where the winners all have twin tip exhausts in a single exhaust slot.

+1 for the vestal virgin provided delivery option.

Other suppliers on here take note. This is what your clientele demand.....

IMO, virgins are overrated . . .

But,

Our local parts stores have a long tradition of employing hot parts delivery girls anyway, so, niche filled.

I think I emailed their site sometime back and asked why after all that extensive restoration work, they didn't restore the black painted facet accents on the turbo wheel spokes.
They replied that it was restored to the customer's specs. I guess they were selling it for their client.
Not to be A/R... never mind, I guess I am.

I'm surprised they even knew what turbo wheels were.

I'm still waiting to hear from someone who actually has one. Over 11,000 members on this board and nobody admits to owning one or buying an RS older restoration? That's higher odds than getting struck by lightning.
Seen two very close up means what? Seeing one at an intersection waiting for the light to turn green? Or was it close enough to witness random observations? What's under the carpets? Por15 floors or...? What does the spare tire well look like? What does the wiring harness under the dash look like? Headlight relays? What about a "Click of Death" relay?
Who has the answers to these questions?
The guy who bought one what did he say?
In any case, i'd opt for a brand new Odyssey Touring for 50 grand before a Spider...unless of course it's built with love and brilliant innovation like SoFlaFiat's project. Now, THAT car is hot, and it doesn't even run yet :D

I dont get this, how would you know who restored a car just by seeing it a a stop light? I simple said that I saw two cars close up. I walked around them and looked inside of them. Its not that complicated. This is beating a dead horse. Moving on.

This was beating a dead horse when the thread started. See my first comment early on in the thread. And, THEN, I simply called out for concrete evidence of shoddy work from someone who actually bought one or aquired an older restoration. There's no takers. Even YOU didn't provide any details of what you've heard or seen. I rest my case. Moving on sounds good.

The comment on shoddy work was not by spiderrey BTW.

My point (which differs from thepoint), is looking at such at animal isn't meaningful. It's laughable crap, from the bumpers to the wheels to the silly made up Italian names for the parts. The guy who put this together isn't going to start yanking out the carpet to show you that he poured a bunch of POR-15 on it, or replaced some Bosch relay. If you're looking at those details then you're not the buyer. The buyer is someone who would pay $50k for a CS0 Spider. They don't know where the hood lever is.

You are correct Brad, nobody here quoted "shoddy". That word doesn't belong here, my bad, it was blurted out at the spur of the moment. "Superficial" fits better.
That kind of buyer you describe pretty much buries the hatchet. 0<5 sums it up. Amen.
