Good grief! What does this mean?

A couple months ago, a fellow Corsa Rossa member told me about someone wanting to buy an X19 very badly. He didn't have much money but was hoping for a driver. I told him I'd look around for him. It seems these cars are becoming extremely scarce for some reason. Hardly any on Ebay or in the For Sale section of our forums. Last month, the member asked me again and I told him I was still searching. He asked if I'd sell mine to the guy and I told him I'd have to think about it. I have been working hard on my vintage racer, but it's a project that will take a year to complete. I'm not allowed to start another project until it's done, so the X has been put on a back burner. I decided to post something on the XWeb site to see if it would be a good idea to sell it and look for another one later. It would take about $7K to get it where I want it. They all said to sell it, so I left a message for the guy to call me yesterday.
This morning, I got an email from the fella I originally bought the car from, wanting to know how his baby was doing....what is it with these Fiat owners and their cars??? He was telling me how much he missed his car and was hoping to find another one. Now, here I sit on the fence again, wondering if I should sell that stupid thing or keep it. What do you guys think?

if it's going to sit for a year, I'd consider selling it. Heck, in a year there might not be any gasoline around to run a car on.

how many projects can you seriously give your attention to, Denise? Let someone else have the privilege of bringing the DEVIL CAR back into submission.

I am honestly having trouble keeping up with two Spiders. I would be as happy as a pig in pooh if i could unload that Spitwad, and that would bring me down one full car in the fleet. The brakes on the Ranger squeak, the van has a shudder in the front end. The '78 front calipers are sticking and the '80 is in a Twilight Zone eternal tweaking mode. Yeah, i'd love to own an X myself, but even if i had the room....the time and attention it needs in addition to all the others is sheer craziness. 'course, every time the grand daughter appears, all the wrenches get set down for the rest of the day.

That the way it should be! WHen the little ones show up, its play time! My issue is, Lilly (my duaghter) always wants to play. My wife says Im her favorite toy. Unfortunately, I cannot ALWAYS set teh wrench down. If I did, I'd never get anything done. My wife is cool with it, so on weekends, when she runs around, she takes LIlly with er, and usually reroutes her errands to a playground, or something else for Lilly

This is the way I see it. When you're finished with a "project" you should not have to revisit it that often with a wrench in your hand, right? Unfortunately, I made the mistake of moving the Devil X out of purgatory to wash him and he spewed gas all over the engine again. If that wasn't bad enough, the engine compartment latch didn't retract so when the door closed on it, it got bent. I swear this car's possessed.

Mike, I'm lucky to have my grandson every morning from 6:30 to 10:30 while Jen takes a class at the local community college so I get my baby fix.

there's no way my grandbaby isn't gonna come round and not know which end of a wrench to hold. Gramma had a really tough time that particular day keeping her in the house and out of the garage.


but, you are right Denise. A fix should stay fixed. not for just a week, or a season. that is why i was so torqued outa shape this spring about a speedo cable...again. Three cables in 12 months is two too many.

This is my favorite picture. It hangs on the wall of my home office.
I was working under a car when my son (the 18 year old tranny lube helper) was 4-1/2 months old. He had crawled under the car and was all over me trying to see what I was doing. I went and got a camera, put him on a creeper with a 7/16" wrench in his hand, slid him under the car and as he reached up into the chassis, I got the picture. It's a classic.
I hope if you look close you can see the wrench in the hand down by his chest.

What a cute picture! Looks like you taught him well. Here's a pic of my daughter working on her own ride at the age of 5. She actually likes helping Mommy work on her cars:

That's way cute Denise. It looks like her ride was used for mud running, but where did she find the pink mud? My 15 YO daughter is too girlie-girl to work on cars, I'll ask her for help just to get that "eeewww".

My kids like digging holes, this is about as close to working on the car as they'll get. Although the younger one is a lot more interested in taking things apart so who knows.....

In a pansy field? I honestly don't know. All of our mud is good ole North Carolina red clay.
