79 2000 yet another break question

This all started when I repacked my wheel bearing. The repacking went VERY well and everything spun great. Then I put the calipers back on. The passenger side went great. Everything went together very well.

The drivers side. Another story. First I put the break caliper on and proceeded to strip the lower bolt hole. Took the caliper off and tapped the hole to a 7/16 x 20. Cut the 7/16 bolt down to the length of the top original bolt and put it in and tightened it up. I can spin the hub just fine and everything looks great. I bled the breaks, put the wheels back on and the passenger side spins great, but the drivers side scrapes, I think on the caliper and then when the balance weight on the inside hits the caliper(I think that is what is happening) the wheel stops and won't go any further.

I do have the spacer with the two little studs installed and also once I think about it, the wheels are turned all the way to the right (don't know if that makes any difference).

Any ideas?

If it is hitting a balance weight then remove the balance weight and have the wheels rebalanced with tape weights or on the outside. Must be a thick weight.

the balance weight may be hitting the upper control arm, with the suspension dropped. load the suspension, (put the jack under the control arm and lift the car there)) then check to see if that is corrected
