79 2000, where to buy best ball joints

Post by barnesjtsl »

I'm going to be replacing upper and lower ball joints. Where can I buy the best ball joints? With all the issues related to these I want to get the best.

Also can anyone outline the procedure or send me a link to a good thread related to changing these?

Thanks,

Some people like the TRW made ball joints. A few years ago they were available repackaged and sold though NAPA as MOOG.

They are different in appearance than the original style ball joints. If you wind up with ball joints looking like the ones above, be sure to hand pack them with grease before assembly. I also like to rub a thin film of grease on the boots inside and out, to keep them supple.

As always, your mileage may vary.
