Should I go for it?

Post by georgeramos »

I have a 4 into 2 exhaust manifold and a stock exhaust system. My friends have a Borga header with the whole shebang back. Its too loud for them. Thayre willing to trade systems. Should i go for it? Im struggling BIG time installing a header on my 128 as i type. Im ready to throw it in the river except i started the car and heard it breathe for the first time. If the results are even close on my spider im feeling it is probably worth doing. Thoughts? Thanks friends

I think the ability for "better" breathing would be my deciding factor ... I don't mind loud .. I have an old scout that would set off car alarms in the parking lot as I looked for a spot and while I love that deep rumble of a big v-8 I am not sue if it something that I would want or strive for in the fiat ... but as stated if the ability of the borga's breathing is better than your current setup AND if it something that the engine wants or needs for performance than I would do it in a second and the sound would just be how it sounds ... you can always turn up the stereo

Im not sure how stock my motor is but ive upgraded the intake and the carb as well as adding pertonix ignition and while the stock 4 into 2 is known to flow well i feel the stock diameter plumbing and muffler are probably a little bit restrictive. If i had known more a year and a half ago id have spent the marginally extra dough on Autoricambis hi po exhaust system instead of stock...
