cam cover gaskets

Post by spider2081 »

I painted a spare set of cam covers and they are ready to install. I have a set of cork gaskets and rubber gaskets. Which set should I use to install the covers??

I can't say which is better but when I brought a set of cork gaskets to my mechanic years ago, he threw them in a box and installed some rubber ones that he had in stock. Others can give their opinions, but my mechanic has been working on Fiats/Alphas for over 25 years.
Based on that, I would go with the rubber.
