84 PININRARINA SPIDER- TRANSMISSION, FINALLY FIXED!

Shift issues from day one of dealer purchase. For a three speed chevette tranny in car with 32,000 original miles, it was like giving birth to find a mechanic willing and able to work on it. If you can't plug it in to a diagnostic unit they can't fix it (Kind of like giving a 16 yr old check out clerk 2 one dollar bills, three quarters and a penny to cash out a sale totaling 2.56. Yes- I am going for 2 dimes and no pennies back , thank you.) Paid the same recommended auto trans shop 200+ twice to get it shifting properly and stop leaking fluid. Did I mention there are 32,000 mile on it? My neighbor- (Thank you Lord) is a mechanic and took an interest in our plight. Couple of evenings diagnosing that there should not be a cork gasket in the pan and that the shift issue was the trans shift cable out of time with the throttle cable causing the late shifting fixed the problem. Like night and day. Thanks Kevin!!!
