Valve cover bolts
Pulled off my valve covers to adjust shim clearances and had a question on how tightly to screw down the valve cover bolts. I screwed them pretty tightly using the Allen wrench as I suspect the exhaust one was leaking. Is that correct or should they be fastened less tightly?

Re: Valve cover bolts
The casting in the cambox that has the stud in it is not very strong, overtightening can snap the alloy or pull the stud out. A fair bit of work to repair. Make sure the cam covers are flat by rubbing them on a sheet of emery paper on a piece of glass or other flat surface, refit with new gaskets and it won't leak.
