Muppet!

Post by toplessexpat »

Going to share this afternoon's frustration....

My FI had been having a few "hesitation" issues. Finally traced to a gunked up fuel pump (tank was recently replaced). Fitted shiny new pump from AR and ..... She won't fire. Cranks, but no joy.

Have spark
Have injectors (noid lights are such fun!)
AFM fine
Every single resistance on the ECU fine
Have voltage at the new pump

.. It's been a hot afternoon in Houston.... So frustration was mounting.

Then it hit me - polarity.... Sure enough I'd managed to reverse the connections on the new pump!

All well now. I feel a bit of an idiot, but no harm done, just a bruised ego.

Andy

Ps - I AM going to fit AC to the garage now !!

well done!

I have an old window unit in my shed.... I've totally thought about setting it in the window of my garage when I am working on the car!
