Carburetor Hose Question

Post by gcorsar »

I've checked Brad's pages for carb pictures but can't find one that shows all the hose connections for my carb. The port to the characoal canister was easy. I couldn't find any information about the port at the top near the fuel lines. What does that connect to? Can it be blocked off?

It looks like the carb bowl vent. It can hook into the vapor return to the tank with a T, or you can block it off.

Great! What about the one going to the bottom of the charcoal canister? If I remove the canister, what should I do with this? Block it off or tee off some vacuum line?

When I blocked off the bowl vent the carb started flooding. I'd connect it to the vent line going to the tank.

@vandor: Interesting... I've blocked it but haven't had it on the road yet... I'll be sure to keep an eye on that...

Got back to the carb hoses today. I tee-d off the gas tank vent hose and connected up the top port as vandor suggested. I also ran a hose from the lower port (that used to connect to the bottom of the charcoal canister) to the high speed electrovalve so the high speed circuit works. Things seem to be working fine but only a road test will tell. :D

Thanks for the input! And if there's something I hosed up ( ), please let me know.
