steering components with grease fittings
steering components with grease fittings
does anyone know where to get a center link and tie rod ends that are greasable for a 71 fiat 124 spider i just bought all new components and i dont like them they feel dry as a bone to me and i have a clunk when i back up with my steering wheel turned and i step on the brake--and everything is tight and my calipers are good and all my control arms and ball joints are new-prima 1's from VAS.

Is there a rubber seal you can get under with a hypodermic needle and inject some grease?

Check to make sure the clamps aren't hitting anything. They have to be turned a certain way so that don't collide with anything. That may be causing your clunk.
I use a hypodermic needle to do my front end lubing as well.

thanks for the info --also how do you lock the front spindle nuts i peened the nut into the key slot--the clymer manual says to crimp the end of nut--what does that mean?

the problem with the hypadermic needle is--you dont get the grease to the top of the ball joint--where it is really needed

Pop the boot off with a chisel and hand grease the joint. Wipe the inside and outside of the boot with grease as well, and it will not crack in a year as they are so prone to doing.

highly unlikely that the noise on backup is a centerlink or tierod end, look closly at control arms for , loose caliper slides and brake pads, and then look again
