custom speaker boxes are being installed and that lever has got to go
looking for options how to move it or replace it and have it be someplace else than where it is now
thought about cutting it short and trying to squeeze the box under it but that will not work
thought about trying to bend it to a horizontal lever and clear the box that way but I don't think I can bend enough of the housing to make that work
does not appear to be a whole lot of cable to be moving it very far (assuming I can remove the whole lever unit ..which I see no way of doing that) I do not know how it is attached
hoping someone can give me an idea that I am not seeing ....... thanks ... Matt
and to any guys with hood pins .. are the pins the only thing holding down the hood
hood release lever needs to go ..what options???

A quick easy fix would be to run the hood release into the fender well instead of the cabin.

that is a great idea ... just get like a universal choke cable and replace the one there and run it wherever I want.... most likely will not be back into the cab .... thanks for that .. brilliant ...
but here is what I did in the meantime .... bent the crap out of the metal piece that holds the cable and snapped the lever off of its mounting point .... ground the lever down to look like a pull start on the lawn mower and suspended it with a piece of string .... it is a find it by feel and pull type of thing .... don't recommend trying it with a bracelet on as your hand does a dance between the speaker box and the fuse panel ... but it works for now and onward with my project I go

how about an electrical door popper or trunk actuator mounted in the engine bay to the release cable.. then you could wire a switch anywhere.
here's a kit on ebay for $11.00

wow learn something every day .... yes I do have that backup... looks like a smaller cable that follows the same path .... inside cab it just makes a loop ... however it appears to be frozen or stuck ... pulled harder than I feel comfortable pulling and it just does not move a bit .... will investigate further later today ... thanks for the heads upchrisfiat wrote:do you still have the factory backup release still installed ?
remote option would be cool to have... I guess .. but I would want a mechanical backup .... and for myself after solving the mechanical backup option ... the remote would not have an appeal to me unless I could have it for everything ... doors ..trunk .. windows ... auto start .. oil slick .. laser... ejector seat... lol ... sorry still waking up ..it is a good option .. and cheaper than I thought something like that would be .. thank you
