Removal of old and installation of new radiator RESOLVED
I am participating in a parade tomorrow and I have been sitting on a new rad and hoses from my lovers @ http://www.autoricambi.us/ Hoping to remove and replace tonight (weather permitting ). Any do's & don'ts? Anyone done this recently? Any steps/pics etc? I will document myself.

Re: Removal of old and installation of new radiator
Jay, I've had my radiator in and out a couple of times.
The biggest pain, in my opinion, is draining and refilling the system. It can be messy.
Some tips:
1. get a covered drain pan from Canadian Tire http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/scept ... 3108p.html, rinse it thoroughly with cold water before use. Drain your coolant into the pain so you can reuse it. Pour the coolant back in using a funnel covered over with some pantyhose so it will filter any dirt.
2. depending on what you have in your tool kit, you might need to remove the air cleaning box to get at the bottom mounting bolt on the passenger side
3. when removing and installing the fan, you will need to tilt it at an angle to get it in and out. It's a little weighty, so be careful you don't scratch anything.
4. tag the wires that connect to the fan and the temp switch. I use folded over sticky labels so I don't have to think about reconnecting things - it's virtually automatic this way. There was another connecter I had to play with, but I can't recall what it was - power to the fan I think(?)
5. be careful with the rubber mounting grommets. They might be worn out making it difficult to get everything back in
Honestly, though, it's an easy enough job if you have 60 or 90 minutes, but I'd leave it until I had a whole weekend in case something snags. You don't want to be rushing about at the last minute if you encounter something untoward. And you don't want to be worried about overheating if yo don't refill the cooling system correctly.
