No, I don't. The Hemmings is supposedly formulated specifically for flat-tappet engines.

Hey Bernie...going to FFO? Is it your understanding that the Castrol 20-50 now has a higher zinc content than the Rotella? If so,I will have to switch to the Castrol.I also use the Clean filters (after reading your test),and find if you order 3 or 4 from IAP ,they are as cheap as a Wix even with the shipping.

For complete protection, I'd suggest an oil specially formulated for flat-tappet engines, or a modern oil with ZDDP additive, such as sold by Mark. I've been using specialty oils since rebuild, and my valve clearances have not changed in 20k miles. While this is not as definitive an endorsement as a complete teardown, it satisfies me.
But as I said in my first post; with limited mileage, an annual change with the correct viscosity oil suitable for gasoline engines is probably fine.

All this talk about tappets......I don't see very many fiat engines, so do they have a problem w cam/tappets wearing out??
Certainly not that I have seen. Methinks this is all a little overkill.
FWIW, I run whatever 10-30 I have on the shelf. Ever try to spin an oil pump to pump oil?? Takes a lot of force. Thin is good.

Rotella T with triple protection 15w-40 CJ-4 http://www-static.shell.com/static/can- ... ection.pdf has approximately 1200 ppm zinc.
Shell still sells Rotella T 15w-40 CI-4 in 55 gallon drums, but not in smaller packages. It has approximately 1400 ppm zinc.
Minimum, you need 1200 ppm for flat tappet cams

I know nothing other than Fiona runs great, starts everytime with zero issues even after 5+mnths of storage since 2011
I think whatever people put in is better than nothing at all. I have faith in todays products and love this forum and the people on it so I sau go for it and enjoy

Rotella is very good for keeping your rod bearings from pounding out. Highly recommended for WRXs and C5 Corvettes that see track use. It also helps to control oil consumption. The Air cooled Porsche boys like Brad Penn and Valvoline VR1 for the Zinc content. They do prevent cam lobe failures in those engines.
I haven't heard of a single case of cam lobe failure in a FIAT engine, but I haven't been looking for cases either.
