i would love to have that in my garage! the market for small affordable convertibles is so anemic in the past fifteen years or so unless your not afraid to wear a skirt and drive a Miata! (no disrespect to the women on this site)

sure it looks nice, but does it have a package shelf?

i've heard the new spider will be built on a frame/engine, so you may need a skirt. despite being male, i had a miata years ago and for all the knocks they take on here, it was a good car.

Its a miata, but supposedly it will have an italian engine and exterior design. I'd have one. Word on the street is that it might be badged as an alfa romeo rather than a fiat though. Something about it being against the bylaws of the company for a fiat badged car to be made outside of italy.

Many of the FIAT 500s are made in Toluca, Mexico. So the badging can't be an issue.

I have a supercharged Miata. I can't really knock them, as they do everything well. I love the Fiats though, and I would really like to see them make a new 124.

I thought I read that the owner of Fiat...Sergio something, didnt want an ALFA to be built outside of Italy so it would be a Fiat instead. I doubt it will look like the pic posted by the OP but it would be awesome if it did!

Fiat should just put the word out that they want a sweet new design and have a contest. There are some creative folks out there as that image shows. Also the other 2 that had been floating around the web...

With both of these red cars shown, the styling cues of the original 124 Spider are fairly evident; grille opening shape, 3-slat grille (124AS), turn-signal shape, hood/fender line & "small bump" hood. The yellow car shown looks more like a retro design of the Series 1 European 850 Spider than anything close to a 124. All are nice designs, though!
