Had a hesitation on acceleration when I got the car out this year. While investigating the accelerator pump, noticed a ton of air coming out of the CCV inlet in the air cleaner. A good solid puff puff puff in time with the motor. Definitely a bad cylinder. Got the leak down tester on it today and cylinder 1 holds almost no pressure. It comes right out of the CCV.
Had a miss and a backfire since I got the car, I guess not all of the cylinders were firing from the get go.
What am I looking at here? Is a re-ring possible or full tear down and rebuild? Is it possible to get the oil pan off with the motor in the car?

Sounds like rings to me.
It is possible, releasing the motor mounts and jacking the motor, to get the pan off. You may have to unbolt the tranny as well.
Honestly, it's almost easier to just pull the motor.

Re: Excessive blow-by
I just replaced #4 piston in a 79 spider. I removed the head/intake/exhaust as an assembly then unbolted the front mounts and jacked it up using a trolley jack under the bellhousing/transmission. Some inner pan items had to be removed to get the pan to clear the crossmember.
I don't know if leaving the head assembly on the block would provide enough vertical clearance required.

Is there a shop around New England that knows these motors?
