Have you checked the fluid level in your transmission?
Have you noticed any extra drips where you park your Spider?
Could be you need to top off the gear oil in the trans.

Do you have the center console, shift boot and insulation all back together? If not you definitely hear more noise.
Is it a whirring/whining type noise or a little more metallic/grinding type noise?
I had a small dent in the metal sleeve that goes over the input shaft where it goes through the bell housing,i don't remember the name that part, but it looks a little like a flat funnel. That caused mine to be a little noisey until it was replaced, but you could feel it didn't spin smooth. It was more of the rock tumbler metallic noise you would associated with a bad bearing.

I did the whole clutch job last year because I thought the throw out bearing was going. Turned out it was fine, it was the pilot bearing that was shot. Did you replace yours?
Re: Noise from bell housing/transmission
thanks for the tips. No fluid leaks(can it really be a fiat) I didn't change pilot bearing, so it looks like I'm yanking out the tranny again. Can't wait to deal with the top two bolts again. what do I look for as far as input shaft and is replacing the bearing difficult? Again thanks everyone.
