no more overheating, but i guess that's easy to do when the car won't run... lol.. nah, it's not that bad.. yester day i checked stuff out. There wasn't a thermostat installed, so i put one in. let it idle for a while to see if it would over heat, but before it got up to temp, the heater core started dumping coolant. Luckily i had a spare heater box with a good heater core in it. changed that out and let it run again, this time the fan didn't work. Tested the relay, it checked out good... so that narrowed it down to the temp switch or the wiring... i decided to check wires first so i wouldn't have to mess with coolant while swapping out the switch. It was the right decision... for some reason the po messed around with the wiring. fixed the wires and now the cooling system worked like it should and it quit overheating.... i also replaced the entire exhaust system with the one i had saved up for my project car because it was ate up with rust holes all the way through and the exhaust manifold was cracked. after unbolting it, it actually came out in two pieces.... so now, no more over heating and it's a lot quieter.... since all that, i guess the seal in the distributor gave out because oil started coming out of it pretty fast and now it won't idle... it still runs, but i have to keep my foot on the gas.... going to try a marelli electronic ignition tomorrow rather than rebuilt the old distributor...
the new top was only half way installed... i had to get it tucked in, in the back, so now it's good except the cables are missing... i'll have to get some ordered...
