Everyone wants to get rich quick

Post by focodave »

This car has been on Craigslist in Colorado for a couple of months.
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.js ... &aff=oodle
They were asking $12,500.
This morning I noticed it was gone from Craigslist.
Now it has possibly changed hands, apparently, and a used car dealer is asking $19,995 for it.
Geez!
Someone's been watching too many car-flip reality shows on T.V. lately.
I should go to that dealer and offer them $12,500 just for kicks, to see what their reaction would be.

Dave,

Hey he can ask as much as he wants too, but good luck finding a buyer.

What cracked me up was this comment in his ad:
after thoroughly test driving this vehicle, the only thing that might have to be replaced in the future are the breaks.
First of all you'd think a dealer would know the difference between "breaks" and "brakes", but if he's asking 20 grand I'd kinda expect him to do a $200 brake job. Cripes, he's a dealer. (shakes head)

Haha.
They also list the interior color as "tan".
That's the "reddist" tan I've ever seen.
I think they are so anxious to flip it, they frantically typed up that lame ad just to get it on the website without having anyone proofread it.
Another Colorado Spider is up on Craigslist, now, for $16,000.

Damn, maybe I should sell mine for $50K and buy that island in the Caribbean I've had my eyes on for a while.

if that interior is tan, someone was shot in the car and bled out evenly over the entire interior.

i was at a car show yesterday on the east coast and someone had a well sorted 1975 for sale for $17,500. seems a bit high, as does the one in the ad for 20K, but more power to them if they can get that kind of money.

$12,500 is high for that car, although much of the value probably comes from making the automatic transmission shifter look just like a 5 speed manual. That provides a nice complement to the tan interior.

I got real good deal on a Spider a few years back because the car was dear to the owner and they wanted to make sure it got a good home. These Fiat chat rooms have quite a few members like that.
