When I replaced my timing belt, I thought I put everything back on correctly but now my fan belt seems way too long and the alternator pulley seems to be out of alignment.
Is it possible that I put the crank pulley on backwards? Will it even go on backwards??
All I want to do is get this car back together. I haven't driven it in a year and its killing me!
Thanks,
Brian

Re: crank pulley on backwards?
quite impossible, perhaps you have the belt in the wrong groove

I find my v-belt pulley do not align perfectly, but arent off enough to be an issue.

Thanks! I'll check again when I get home from work. I was so frustrated last night that I just walked away...
