when i bought my car last year, the clock wasn't working. it was making an electrical chirping sound but the hands weren't moving, so i disconnected it from the harness. in addition to the harness, there is a spade connector on the back of the clock, but there wasn't any connection to it, although a black wire shares the spade connector on the clock.

does anyone have a wiring diagram or picture of the clock connections?

do all the clocks make the chirping sound?

They should be quiet. Try Palo Alto Speedo for repair.

Or just get a new or used one. PA Speedo is very slow and will likely charge you as much as a replacement.

Not that I besmirch originality but the clocks didn't keep good time when new. On the Spider 2000 it was a good place to retrofit an oil pressure gauge!

If you're restoring the car, it shouldn't work.

thanks. i've decided to replace the clock with a voltmeter. it's the last piece of the puzzle before the dash goes back together.

PA Speedo charged me 75 bucks, repaired the time setting stem, replaced the "glass". I shipped it to them on a Thursday (overnight) and it was back in MA on the following Tuesday. No complaints so far with those folks.

For the sake of parity they accepted a set of my 850 gauges (which are the same as the 124 gauges) and sat on them for 8 months, did nothing, and I had to threaten them to get them back.

That is most unfortunate. Was any explanation ever given as to why that happened?
