Bastard transmission fill plug gave a good fight but in the end I was victorious. Now I'm officially an Italian car specialist. So excuse me while I go restore a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO

Congrats on the getting the fill plug off. It's in a pr!ck of a location. I use a ratchet ring spanner.

Is that a new tailshaft doughnut? You can cut the band once its installed

Yes I installed that recently. I didn't realise it came off. I'll take it off if it makes a noise or something.

You need to remove the band before you drive the car again, it is keeping the guibo compressed, which will lead it to disintegrate under load. This can be very bad for either your transmission or driveshaft or both. Get under there and cut it it off - it is for installation purposes only.
