No Fiats?

Post by hallgreghall »

So I am in the Philippines for a couple of weeks for work and have not seen one single Fiat. Does anyone know if Fiats have ever been sold here, and if not why? I would think the small size and price would be a good fit.

Yes Daniel there are tons of Toyotas, Isuzus, and Mitsubishis. I haven't really seen any cars with any "character".

the few times i was in the phillipines, all i saw were jeeps or similar vehicles that were decorated garishly with a whole lots of mirrors, etc.

i've travelled quite a bit and have never been so afraid when in a vehicle. everyone there uses their horns constantly and there doesn;t seem to be any way to tell if it's a real emergency or not, so the drivers just ignore them all.

Yes the "Jeepneys" are everywhere. In Panama they call them El Diablo rojos "red devils" because they are so dangerous.

This is my fourth time here and am always amazed at how insane the drivers are. I am pretty sure that if the horn on the car is not working the cars here won't start. :)

The only time i see driving that close (side by side) is in nascar or the movies they pack in the lanes! and the rules
if there are any? seem to be out the window while in the big cities. When i was in Bohol that was nice I'd like to go
back one day.
