So Giulia was getting a little lonely, so meet...
Giada!
So I had the idea to surprise my dad for his birthday and found a really clean '79 with 35,000 original miles on it. I was hoping that this could be a bonding deal for us and we could attend gatherings and events together and tinker under the hood. She is all original down to the tires... The car came out of Missouri where it had lived all it's life and had two previous owners and documentation to back up the mileage claim. The car has been maintained very well over the years and it shows as I haven't found a speck of rust anywhere on this thing. All original documents, manuals and even the radio booklet. Has the original corn row carpets and the tar insulation mats below look brand new!
The paint is all original and still shines incredibly well for being 35 years young with the exception of a few blemishes here and there. It's amazing to see there are still cars out there so clean and original like this and is almost as clean as my last '84 with 19k miles on it. The dash and console is perfect and the seats are so freaking soft it's unbelievable. Now I haven't had a chance to go through it and do a full detail but you'll get the idea. When I get around to it I'll do a nice foto shoot. Today is only the second day I've really had to put her through her paces and aside the 35 year tires she drives really well... I'm just hoping my dad takes to her soon, if not I'll enjoy her for the summer season and I'll look to move her onto a new home. Enough babbling and onto the pics...

My, my.
That is just one very nice looking Spider.
Even the factory steel wheels/trim rings look really great with that color combo.
How in the world did you ever find this car?

I hope you father decides he loves it but if not please keep me on the list as a good home looking for a Spider. That one is a real find!

Man - that is a gorgeous car! You should consider getting that on http://www.petrolicious.com as a featured car.
And I can't figure out if those pics make me want to drive those roads in that car, or just go fishing!

Re: So Giulia was getting a little lonely, so meet...
Thanks everyone for the kind words! She really is something special and hopefully he comes around. It's only been a week so far so maybe he will warm to the car. The problem is he's got a bad back, bad left hip and let's just say has put on a few pounds on in the last few years and he can't get in or out of it and working the clutch bothers his hip he says. We've always had old Fiat's growing up and I got out bid a few months back on a MINT 131s and he seemed pretty bummed out so since I couldn't find another 131 or 124 coupe so I thought a mint Spider would do... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to do double duty and drive her I just hope Giulia doesn't get to jealous, lol...
I actually was one of the high bidders on this car on eBay a few weeks ago but never met reserve. I sent the seller an email and we were able to work out a deal and a week later she showed up. The guy used to own a transport company so he was able to pull some stings and got the car here in record time in covered transport. This car must have never seen rain for the condition it is in. Between the exterior, interior and undercarriage it was always garage kept and I was told it was part of a large car collectors collection and sat in a climate controlled warehouse with all the others cars in the collection. I think that it is very likely and the story plausible considering its condition.
As far as the road goes the pictures do it no justice. That road is an unbelievable and very scenic road with turn after turn after turn and I am fortunate enough to live very close to. It hugs an enormous reservoir and with a few cross over bridges and really is a site to see. A favorite for many guys with cars, motorcycles, ect... It's always packed on the weekends especially this time of year. This is my go to drive for ever car I've owned and is the first place I take a new car unfortunately with the current tires I had to take it very easy and couldn't push her to hard but in due time she get the full workout!
I'm hoping the weather is nice this week and I'll do a full detail inside and out and update with some good shots. I have to figure out how to get the pics to not get cut off so you can see the entire pic. I think the next thing is to get some tires on this thing because they are shot. I'm still surprised they've made it all these years but they are on there last days as I took it out on the highway for the first time after taking the pics and she didn't feel safe. The tread is barely there and they're hard and dry rotted with cracks. It's ashame to have to give up the originality but they are just not safe and have to be replaced or I'm just going to order some new rims and tires and save these as is for when the time comes and if I decide to sell her. Maybe someone else might appreciate the original tires and rims... Who knows.
Thanks again for all the positive responses and I look forward to showing her off some more in the next few weeks. In the mean time here's a quick shot of Giulia, just so she doesn't get to jealous now that she's got some competition, lol... I still haven't made a thread to show her off and update with all that has been going on the last week now she's been completely gone through so soon she will get her own thread so for now this will have to do! Haha...

If I didn't know better I'd say the new car was wearing Guilia's shoes! Guilia ain't gonna like that! You aren't dressing up the new car with Guilia's nice things in preparation for dumping her are you?
