Need to replace this hose:
This is the hose from the liquid-vapor seperator up to the air filter housing.
I've tried 3 hoses from 2 different local parts stores, but nothing really suits as to fit and type of material. The original hose is very thin rubber material, undoubtedly gas-oil resistant. Locals can only find heater hose that is even close in size, but it is considerable thicker (less flexible too). This hose is approx. 3/4" ID and fairly stretchy to look at the way it was fitted over the connections. Do any of the vendors carry this? Any ideas out there?
Source for hose?

Re: Source for hose?
For some reason when I searched the other night, I did not get that particular hose to come up in the search results. Thought they should have it. Almost called Csaba just to make sure. Thanks.
Re: Source for hose?
All of the vendors sell that part. You probably want to go ahead and replace the other smaller hose too. There is also a paper gasket that seals off the breather.
Take of the breather and clean it well, replace with a new gasket and two new hoses, also remember to install the flame trap in the top breather hose.

Is this what you are referring to as the breather?ClarkTheShark wrote:All of the vendors sell that part. You probably want to go ahead and replace the other smaller hose too. There is also a paper gasket that seals off the breather.

Weird how the short hose (an elbow really) is more money than the long hose.
Is the gasket the "oil vapor seperator gasket?" Do I just clean the brass brush that is the flame trap and reinstall? I cut the old hose to have a small piece to try to match at local stores and cut the end off of it but I suppose that most of it is better than none at all?

Yes, that is what ppl refer to as breather, or oil vapor separator.

Re: Source for hose?
yeah the small hose is weird. it's possible that 2 feet of 5/8" breather hose (maube closer to 3/4"?) from any auto parts store will work for the big one, but the little one is an elbow with differing sizes at the ends.

Re: Source for hose?
Most auto parts stores do not carry hose that resists oil vapors.
