After having some out of town company, a bout of food poisoning, and planning my own last minute wedding in vegas for next week (long story), I'm back doing some work on the Fiat. Finally I can relax.

So I just got the piston out of that caliper.. Looking at it, I have a small bit of rust.. So I leave it to the jury of fiatspider.com: Should I rebuild or replace? I already have the rebuild kit in hand.

Firstly, these calipers were painted by someone who didn't know what they were doing. They painted the slides.. I will be sanding this paint off..



Next up is inside the caliper.. This is the majority of the rust. The part outside the inner seal is a touch rough:

Everything looks okay to me. I would take polishing wheel and polish the rust off the piston and then see if you have any pitting. If not, you are good to go. Clean up the slide channel should be easy enough.

Ok, rebuilt that one, slapped things together, bled all 4 wheel with new speed bleeders...

Still pulls to the left when i hit the brakes... But no longer dragging (or at least not as much?)... Looks like I'll rebuild the other side next, and if that isn't it, I'll move onto the rears.. That'll have to wait a couple weeks though.. I have a marriage to be a groom in..

Pulling is not always caused by the brakes. I had a serious pull to the right on hard braking that was caused by bad bushings in the steering linkage. Replaced them and the steering tightened up and the pull went away.

Oh, and 3 of the 4 calipers are painted.. *sigh*.. Time for some more sandpaper.
