If you pop the hood and see a lot of empty space, then your engine is missing. I had a set of dual DCNFs. So each cylinder had its own carb. I would pull the spark plug wire and see if it changed the idle. If it didnt, i would crank up that carb. Check to see if you have good spark on all 4. Assuming your compression is even across the 4, then you are down to fuel.

Ok, thanks, and yes the engine is still there :D
I do have marks wireless dist, in it, so I know all the wires are new and great, I may change the plugs to just change them
What you mean open the carb? Set screws? I have fresh gas running thru it

Turn in the idle mixture screw all the way closed on each carb barrel, one at a time. If the idle does not change for one of the cylinders then you know which one it is. You may just have a clogged idle jet, IDFs do that all the time.

jim, first thing, if there is a skip.

1. pull plugs, do a compression test. this will rule out any internal mechanical problem

2. remove distributor cap, look for carbon tracking

3. check plug wires, change them for a used set if you have one to test.

4. isolate the missing cylinder, you can do this by removing 1 plug wire at a time and see where the change comes, or if you have a infared heat gun, check the exhaust temperatures at the head / manifold area, the cool one is the misfire.

5. i am assuming this is a carb'd 2000. there are many potential vac leaks. but a vac leak will effect all cylinders the same.

after you check these things let me know

oops you have the distributorless ignition, you need to recheck all the settings there to make sure timing is correct. also makes ure you check the firing order
