Some tailpipe smoke...
Someone stopped next to me at a light today and said they saw some smoke from the tailpipe and they thought perhaps i needed rings done. Would a compression and or leakdown test be the best way to verify if theres the issue. When I got home I revved it and saw a little bit (looked white). The oil is still crystal clear and the coolant looks fine too.

both oil in the combustion chamber or too much fuel can create "smoke" out of the exhaust. If it is oil, it could easily be coming from the valve seals. You would notice more smoke on decompression. take it up in rpms and let the motor take the speed down and see if you have smoke coming out.

Re: Some tailpipe smoke...
Similar situation with mine... blows/burns some smoke also.
Been doing it for years. (150,000 miles on a 46 year old 1438). I change the oil every 3.000 and use whatever 20w-50 grade oil is on sale. I Agree with Azruss, it's probably valve seals. I think mine are probably original. Will look into replacing them this year. Until then I change the oil, check it often, top it up in between oil/filter changes and do my bit to contribute to global warming! (we could of used more of that here this past winter)
Also good at getting rid of mosquitoes
Drive it! Oil is cheap.

if you switch to synthetic you won't see the smoke as much . but if the smoke looks white it could be a water issue (grey /blue = oil) i have the same vale seal problem and use 15-50 full synthetic .
