Since I sent my cam gears to Miller's and I don't know when or if I will ever see them again, I need to know if I can use any other cam gears on my 2L head. Other than the belt guide, is there any difference in years? I have a set of aluminum gears from a 1438, can anyone confirm if they will work with the 2L motor? I also have a set from a 76 but one has the air pump gear so I would rather not use them.

Re: Cam gear interchange?
The timing marks and locating pin are in different positions between intake and exhaust. As long as you have the right gear for intake or exhaust, it doesn't matter which motor they came off. Do a forum search and have a look at some photos, it will all become clear.

Re: Cam gear interchange?
I know about the timing marks. I just want to make sure things like diameter, tooth count, and pin locations are the same.

Re: Cam gear interchange?
Jeff, Yes, the tooth count and size are all the same for all years.

Thanks, Ted. I just wanted to make sure before I put it together. Hopefully I'll hear from Miller's soon.
