For those who expressed interest in the brackets for the Raceland wind deflector: The design was more complex than they expected because of the compound angles...it requires a more difficult set up on the machinery. They're creating a computer cut and welded version to see if I like it instead of the bent version I originally developed. I get to see their version this Saturday. They said if I don't like it, they can still create the bent version but it will take another week either way. Sigh.
Sorry for the delay...I was looking forward to having the final product in hand this Saturday.

John thanks for the update. Looking at the brackets you made I was pretty sure the bends were at angles and would be difficult to reproduce with accuracy.

If I had access to the folding machine I had way back in High School, I could produce them myself in no time with excellent accuracy. Old school machinery is sometimes the best kind.

I didn't know there were metal bending brakes you could set angles with, like a chop saw. On the one in the shop I worked at the amount you bent could be set but the angle was eyeballed. I drilled and tapped the base of our brake and installed a 12" long bar 90 degrees to the bend.The clamping bar just touched this 90 degree reference bar. Sliding the metal to the bar assured a true square bend. Sort of like a metal shear would have. I don't think I could have easily made it movable to set different angles. I am impressed with the idea. Thanks again John
