Conversely...

I bought a rear differantial from a 1979 automatic specifically for the longer legs.

Southern California has some fantastic curvy roads, but it is mostly freeways. People look crosseyed at anyone around here that can't hold 80mph. I know the car is more than capable of and is quite willing to do so, but I always thought it was screaming "slow down!" in Italian.

3.54 final drive with the od 5th, should drop the rpms considerably at freeway speed!

If you feel you might miss some of the lost off line performance... just beef up your engine! This exceptional dual cam can be built reliably in a street car to 140-150 hp on pump gas. Even just a carb upgrade with a cam will take you to 110-120hp flywheel... compare that to 75 hp for a Califonia version carb 2.0 liter in 1979. (piece of poop)

you knuckle head. ur losing your mind. i thought i told you it still launches hard, it dosent instantaneously brake the tires loose when i tap the gas like it did before. on the freeway i barely give it gas to cruise highway speeds. i really need to put this thing back on the road.

maybe it was jusy my spanglish, and that one beer? you had me thinking about this all day. i think i did say i might swap it back, it was a little more fun to bust the tires loose with a slight tap of the throttle. hell i dont remember, its been so long since i drove it.
