What is the dial switch to the left of the dimmer knob?
and
Should my '77 124 have a "1800" type face on the rear right? I see
one hole in that area.
and
Is there only one fan speed?
Thanks!

wiper delay switch
1800 plaque on the right rear
if you mean the blower, there should be 2 speeds. If you mean the cooling fan, only 1 speed

Oooohhh...Wiper Delay...nice!

The defrost-blower. It's the switch near the gearshift, right? It seems
like it is either on or off. Are there 2 speeds?
Thanks!

Yep, the switch by the gearshift has two speeds for the heater blower.

I knew that when I got my car as well, but it only had one. Someone put in a replacement switch, with only 1 position. The other wire is under the console, and I plan on hooking it up. Look into that if there's only one position.

While we're on this topic, is this switch wired through the headlight switch for some reason?!? I remember just before the winter, my heater wouldn't work without me turning the headlights on. This seems funky!

no, but I've met a few people that deserved to have the coil wire attached to their seat

LMAO...that's hilarious....

I should try that sometime

Ground the metal steering wheel to the coil, and voila...

*evil laugh*

This thread has a life of its own...
How about the little thumb wheel above those buttons?
What is that??? Maybe it's a speaker front/rear fader???
