I am going to replace the differential cover gasket on my 81 Spider. It has the bent panhard rod. Does anyone know if I will need to remove the panhard rod to slip the differential cover off? I am going to clean it up before I replace the gasket. It looks like there is just enough room to slip it out.

Re: Differential Cover Removal
Should be able to get it out. Good luck on the gasket. Probably worth replacing it.
You can always put the jackstands either on the jackpoints or either side of the differential if panhard rod is In the way. I think you should be ok though.

Thanks Clark
I will give it a try once the new gasket arrives. In the meantime, I have exercised the fill and drain plugs and drained the oil. Gasket should be here tomorrow or the next day.
