#1 out of about 400. Pretty amazing. I did a little research on the Mangusta. Didn't realize Carroll Shelby was involved in the design. Interesting stuff.

Calls it his insurance policy.

He is friends with Tjaarda, who also designed the 124, and who comes here with enough regularity that I was able to meet him. No question as the authenticity since the hammer marks on the fender interior and the grille made from whatever was laying around were put on by the man himself.

Story goes he brought it to a Mustang club meeting once, to show them a variant of the powerplant they all use. The Mustang crowd, not suprisingly, didn't get it, kind of like going to an Alfa club meeting in...an Alfa. You feel weird.

I was wrong. This is not a true Ferrari GTO. It's an original GTB/4. I took a number of pics, trophies, VIN plate, etc. here's just a couple that verify authenticity.
