My dream Spider would be an early flat hood with screaming rebuilt 1600 from a 71 or so, leather interior, aluminum parts where available and updated reliable electrical system. Reliable electrical system. Reliable electric system. If I say it enough will it come true. Seriously though I think a properly retro modded spider would be very cool.

I do believe however that the original body and the motor are simple, masterful designs that are worth preserving, restoring etc in their own right. Some of your folks engine bays are so stunning it's crazy. If you need more speed just rebuild one like abarth or guy croft would do it. The power is there to be had. If you need vette power get a friggin vette.
