T V signal to garage

What is the easiest, cheapest way to get my t v signal to a t v in my detached garage?

best and cheapest would be running a cable .... might not be easy because you either got to bury it or string it overhead .... don't know what system you have but may need a converter box at that location ... or run from a box inside .... 2nd of those options could be a pain depending on where the box is .... you night find, outside the house , where the cable enters the house and splice in there and run to tv .... let the tv pick up what it can on a channel search ... or you will need box at the garage tv location .... make sure and get some decent cable if you bury it ... shooting under sidewalks and other things is not really that hard ... dig holes on either side and get the garden hose and go for it .... piece of pvc pipe can be used as a water drill bit also

Thats workable, can actually run cable from high point on house roof to high point on garage roof. About 20 feet. Hoping for a way to send signal wirelessly on the cheap side. My t v signal is cable fed, no box,s.

Even with satelite TX they still hardwire within the house. Maybe a wireless signal to your laptop in the garage from the house and then project your laptop into the TV with an HDMI cable. When you walk out to the garage you plug your laptop in and hook up to your wireless internet connection in the house. You would be able to play various TV stations over the internet as well as movies and things like Youtube. Not your ABC, NBC and CBS but if you want to see a news story you can search it and play it when you want. I like to have the radio on and listen to the news channel on the radio. If I'm watching the TV then i'm not doing what I came int othe garage to do.

slingbox.com .... but you would need a computer in the garage when you wanted to watch tv .... have not checked in a while but I think they are around 200 bucks ... that is a lot of cable

Dont have a laptop. I have an Ipad and we are constantly using it when we work on different cars. We google how toos and watch a pro do the repair that we are actually doing. Saves alot of time. When I did the timing belt and water pump on my tundra, that Ipad was working over time. You can actually throw whats on the Ipad up on to the t v. It would be nice to have stations though. I am not always in a hurry to complete things.

rabbit ears .... I have an older rear projection in my garage ... so I need a box between the rabbit ears and the tv ... but I get everything I want

Matt, I get more stations through the cable then I would with wabbit ears.

I got it done. I picked up a 50' roll of cable and a splitter. Piece of cake. Ran it from the rear roof of the house to the peak of the roof at the front of the garage. 50 feet was the perfect length. I have enough play in it to pull the tv out from the wall and turn it to the side.

You'll probably want to anchor the cable to the wall somehow. Otherwise a wind storm might try to pull the TV through a very tiny hole.

One day I'll have a flat screen too! I've always had a tv and computer in the "Cave", I love the TV for background while wrenching on something and it keeps the rowdys (as the wife calls them) out of the house during hockey season. The computer, I run WIFI and it is invaluable for info on anything I'm working on, whether it be a torque sequence or parts ordering/locating. When anyone looks at the keyboard, they say they wouldn't touch it with gloves on, so I don't even need a password . Still running an old toshiba tube tv though, so the hookup from the computer is kind of convoluted.
