So you guys have no issue with bogging down off the line or around town with a light flywheel?

the cars I've done come off the line really well. My 500 is a tire-spinning beast from a stop

I have Jason's (Miller's Mule) flywheel and no problems at all.

You do have to develop better control of clutch and throttle, but that's not a bad thing.

I have Miller's Mule "lightened" version in my car and have nothing bad to say about it.
Was hoping someone could share a video of what an aluminum flywheel from Miller looks/sounds like from inside the car?

Sounds like a strange request, but I'm thinking of going that route.

I went with the all aluminum. In addition, new pistons 9.8:1, bigger valves, stage 1 grinds from Allison's (wrestled going with stage 2...), header, hotter coil, engine going back together next week. Will advise!

Side note, how tough are these engines...let me share what I found on mine when it came apart. One exhaust valve hung open, bad spring. cams were not lined up with each other, or the crank. one cylinder was black and scored. Piston look like it hit a grinder. I think someone replaced it because it was DIFFERENT than the other three. Wrong weight-balance issue! The distributor was pointing at #2 at TDC. Can someone tell me how the hell this engine ran? Im guessing I was maybe running with fifty horse. Insane.

Sadly I might know where that motor came from...mismatched pistons, one from a Yugo?

I don't know if the piston was from a yugo. The car came out of San Jose California about 7 years ago. I bought it from a dealer who had it on consignment from a church. The owner had passed away and left it to the church. I think the owners name was Stephanie Aubuchon from La Jolla. It was a twisted deal, the car was on ebay and I was drinking heavily during a football game. Seemed like a good idea. Had some title issues with the communist state of florida dmv but once I got thru that the car grew on me and I love it now. I also have a 1970 big block monte carlo. Got both ends of the spectrum covered. Also, I would not lighten the Monte flywheel. Need the torque for that beast.

The con rod was matching the rest. But the piston had different shoulders in it, where the wrist pin is.

Hey Beek, where did you get that flywheel weight from? I just re-weighed my original, it is a hair under 19 pounds! I hear a lot of different weights out there. But this one is sittin right here on the scale now. I'm sure of the weight. Its out of a 76.

My car will be back together in two weeks so I will be able to comment further on the impact of the flywheel. Unfortunately I did a lot of other things too so it might be hard to tell where all the benefits are coming from.

CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
