Dialling in Cams

example 40/80 cams 280 deg @ 50 thou

Do you set the clearance to 50 thou dial in cam and readjust cam to recommended clearance

or

Set cam to recommended clearance and dial in cams

I do the latter

honestly to find the centerline of a camshaft, you do not have to set the valve adjustment to .050, you are measuring the center line, not the beginning and the ending of the event
