Washer pump gasket

Post by SWhiteley »

I purchased a new washer pump for an 82 from Autoricambi, and just got around to fitting it. However, it doesn't fit - it seems I should have a gasket or seal of some kind between the bottle and pump. The old pump has a push wager on the inside to hold it in.

Am I missing a gasket? wrong pump? Wrong bottle (which does fit perfectly, so I don't think that's the issue)?

Usually the old pump has a rubber gasket/o-ring on it that you have to transfer to the new pump.
Does yours not have this?

It does have a rubber washer, but the hole in the pump bottle is larger than the pump housing by about 1/8" and isn't going to seal. I'll post pictures, shortly...
