1974 Radiator

Post by becaldwell »

I have a 1974, 1756 Spider that I purchased new. I am in the process of going through the cooling system. I have tried a new 1600 radiator but the locating tabs are not wide enough to line up with the locating studs. It is however the right height. Have also tried an 1800 radiator - tabs the correct distance apart but the radiator is too high to fit and get the tabs low enough to mount. I know I am replacing the original radiator so I am sure it has not been changed over the years. Filler is on the driver's side. The car was delivered in January of 74 so it is an early model. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks - I have the original radiator so do not need dimensions, just wanting to replace it with a new one. I was wondering if anyone had dealt with this situation in the past and if so, how they solved the problem. I have had this sort of thing come up several times over the years with a number of different items, the car seems to have been delivered with some 73 and some 74 parts. Guess Fiat was just using up what they had in early 1974!
