Electrical sensor in intake manifold

Post by sdebaker »

1977, non-catalytic Spider. There is an electrical sensor, similar in style to a temp sensor, mounted in a hole in the underside of the intake manifold. It has two male spade terminals on it. I believe it was not hooked up, but the engine ran.

What is this switch supposed to control? How important is it?

it is part of the emissions controls. if they have been disabled or removed, ignore the switch, will not hurt anything.

Temp sensor for switching between the two sets of points. Not needed.
