Tensioner spring. Reliable?
It hasn't been discussed much here but should the timing belt tensioner spring be regularly changed with a timing belt change? This part can only be ordered through auto Ricambi. No other retailers seem to carry this part. They seem to be out of stock on this part, is it a part that rarely goes bad or should I get one shipped if they ever re-stock it? Would I be better off with the all original part on the car rather than a jobber part possibly made in China?

that is a very stout spring. I've never replaced mine.

Ari,
We have more on the way...but honestly they don't generally 'go bad'. Likely, you will be fine reusing your existing spring

Ramzi! Hi! I should have known it's a small world here in this Fiat forum. Caught me by surprise! Thanks for the feedback, and the quick service over the holidays. I'm assuming now that you're more than just a parts supplier, perhaps a Fiat guru?

no need to replace that spring unless visibly damaged
