I've searched and it doesn't seem like anyone is having trouble installing new bushings. I'm trying to replace the end bushings. It's almost like the new ones are too big. Anyone have any tricks?
Thx

Re: Front sway bar bushing installation help
the bushing will compress. put the bushing on the bar and align it as best you can with the bracket piece on the A-arm. It helps to figure out a way to clamp the u-bracket so you get some threads exposed. I found it was easier to get one started with just a couple of threads and then clamp to get the other one exposed. you may find that threading one down a bit will help get the other stud exposed.

Thanks Russ. When I first looked at it, I said to myself. "This looks pretty easy". I've got to stop saying that, kiss of death!

I remember thinking the same thing, like ''maybe a 1 hour job''.A full day later,I was eating those words.I ended up using several floor jacks to keep the bushings compressed and aligned.A pain in the a%#

Thanks all, C-clamp was the ticket. Now one less clank I'll hear when I go over a speed bump. BTW, who came up with the idea of speed bumps? I'd like to spend a few minutes with him!
Re: Front sway bar bushing installation help
Great thread. I need to do this as well. Happy to hear about the C-clamp.
Did you need an alignment after or was she straight?

Re: Front sway bar bushing installation help
No, no alignment required. I could be wrong, but I don't think the sway bar bushing replacement with OEM bushings would impact the alignment.
