I notice two sets of carbs on AR web store,40iDF
What the difference between them? I assume wider throats?

Jim, I'm at the thinking stage of building another engine and it was mentioned to me that if I use the 2L engine, look for the 44 IDF's. Now I hope the engine guru's here will chime in to confirm as well.
Mark has a short video that compares the 40 and 44 idf's , both the EMPI and Weber carbs mounted on a VW motor when on a dyno.

I remember seeing posts here regarding the hood height and the 2L engine with the IDF's...not sure what the outcome was as I thought the IDF's needed a healthy clearance above for air movement...again engine guru's please....

the dcnf's will work better for hood clearance. they are a shorter carb
